Walder Frey is at Your Party - Game of Thrones

This. Is. So. Wrong. Go watch it right now. (spoilers for the Red Wedding, mind the warnings).

Hannibal

Does this remind you of Tokio Babylon? Because it does to me, a whole lot. I'm already waiting for the in-universe shipping, because we (audience) know this is Hannibal, and that he's basically almost-stalking Will to further fuck with his mind and sanity, mostly for the EVULZ, but the other characters don't, so I'm waiting for anyone to point out Hannibal seems quite taken with Will, even in a friendly sense, so I can die laughing.
eva_rosen: (robert de naja)
I will say just one thing: never before a series has killed so many of my favourite characters, yet remained so awesome. I might have even cried a little. Hat off, show. This is how it's done.

I've been re-watching Fringe Season Two, and it reminded me how, back in the day, I kinda shipped September/Peter a whole lot after watching "August" and "Peter". Come on, after all, September's words about Peter ('he's important', 'he has to live') are almost an echo of August's words about Christine.

This, plus the fact that every bloke on the show seemed to have a mancrush on Peter at some point (Nick, Lincoln, even Broyles at times) sealed the deal in my "not have enough crack pairings yet, nope" mind.

So, any of you saw it too?

THE ULTIMATE SILENCE ~ October 12th, 1998

Listen to the mustn'ts, child.
Listen to the don'ts.
Listen to the shouldn'ts,
The impossibles, the won'ts.
Listen to the never haves,
Then listen close to me ...
Anything can happen, child.
Anything can be.

~ Shel Silverstein

Fourteen years ago today, Matthew Shepard was murdered for being homosexual.

What will you do to end the silence?

First of all: Yay! Someone ships it too!!

Ajem.

A Nathan/Finch vid! (Person of Interest).

Vividcon recs

Raspberry Swirl - Suspiria (1977) evil dance school, or Dario Argento's finest movie and the wonderful sol_se made a vid of it. Watch it right this second.

Hole In My Soul - Nolan Batmanverse

Smack My Bitch Up - The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (US & Sweden)

Temptation - Teen Wolf Derek/Stiles.

Own Little World - Jennifer's Body

Ramalama (bang bang)
- Once Upon a Time

Ride to California - The Avengers

Ben Wishaw rocked so very much.

Also, I know is Shakespeare and all, but I couldn't help but being amused at how apparently Tom Hiddleston is doomed to be type-casted as Daddy Issues Prince, however random the movie itself. If he plays Hamlet any time soon I'm going to howl with laughter.

One question for those who saw Henry V: the three traitors scene was left out, or I blinked and missed it?

Sweet Dreams Once Upon a Time Rumpelstiltskin!!

I'll Believe In Anything Being Human (UK) Hal/Tom or Hal&Tom, adorable either way.

We Want Your Soul Tron: Legacy Everything shiny and cool about this movie in a nutshell.

Partners in Crime The Borgias Cesare/Micheletto, or why Sean Harris is a sex god, don't ever doubt it (spoilers for series 2).

High Hopes Swing Kids Christian Bale and Robert Sean Leonard are dancing boyfriends! Ok, not quite. But pretty close.

So. One would think that, after enduring G.I. Joe, I would have learned to stay away from movies which seemed not all that great regadless of how awesome I thought the actor playing the villian was. No, not so much.

I mean, the movie isn't awful, it's just...after watching it, I can safely say there was NO REASON AT ALL for it to be made.

If you've seen the other Spiderman movies (at least the two that didn't suck), well, there you go.

I should have gone to see Avengers again, at least I'd actually watched that movie before, not just felt like I had.

I ship it so much, and I have not even seen the film yet. I blame Rhys Ifans and his unfair way of looking a lot like Tom Petty, whose Mad Hatter was the hottest one ever, and yes I did say I find him hotter than Johnny Deep and Sebastian Stan, haven't I told you all I'm fucking insane?

I might ship this a little See what I meant by insane? but I trust the kinkmeme won't fail me argh take me away from the computer.

The not-spoilery observations (not more than the trailer and the viral vids):

-That was some stupid crew. Also, it reminded me more of Event Horizont that the Alien franchise, only with dumber, less awesome people (even Idris Elba's captain, the crew member I less wanted to hit over the head with a hammer comes second to Lawrence Fishburne's EH counterpart).

-David was far more creepy in the viral vids. Without going into detail, more could have been made of his other-ness, specially with how Michael Fassbender nailed the slightly-off quality of everything he did.

-On the David note, still love Bishop more. Sorry, Fassbender.

The mildly spoilery observations:

Here's to hoping it's not true, but apparently someone (by what I mean a cleric, what a shock) is pitching a law that would allow husbands to have "farewell sex" with their dead wives up to six hours after their deaths.

Also, there's advocating for allowing marriage at age fourteen and revoking a law that allows women to ask for divorce. Lovely...

I started watching Person of Interest...and shipping Finch/Ingram. May have to do with Jim Caviezel never doing a thing for me, but why can't I ship the fandom's favorite pairing for once, since fic for this show is so scarce to begin with?

This is walking from Star Trek IX shipping kirk/Scotty all over again.

ACTA in a Nutshell –

What is ACTA?  ACTA is the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. A new intellectual property enforcement treaty being negotiated by the United States, the European Community, Switzerland, and Japan, with Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada recently announcing that they will join in as well.

Why should you care about ACTA? Initial reports indicate that the treaty will have a very broad scope and will involve new tools targeting “Internet distribution and information technology.”

What is the goal of ACTA? Reportedly the goal is to create new legal standards of intellectual property enforcement, as well as increased international cooperation, an example of which would be an increase in information sharing between signatory countries’ law enforcement agencies.

Essential ACTA Resources

  • Read more about ACTA here: ACTA Fact Sheet
  • Read the authentic version of the ACTA text as of 15 April 2011, as finalized by participating countries here: ACTA Finalized Text
  • Follow the history of the treaty’s formation here: ACTA history
  • Read letters from U.S. Senator Ron Wyden wherein he challenges the constitutionality of ACTA: Letter 1 | Letter 2 | Read the Administration’s Response to Wyden’s First Letter here: Response
  • Watch a short informative video on ACTA: ACTA Video
  • Watch a lulzy video on ACTA: Lulzy Video

Say NO to ACTA. It is essential to spread awareness and get the word out on ACTA.

For those of you wanting to participate in the upcoming Black March protest against Internet censoring legislation, but favor a more targeted approach: The SOPA Boycott:  Boycotting those companies that sponsored or supported SOPA and PIPA.  This allows participants to focus their efforts on larger companies and avoid harming indie artists and small businesses.

There are lists being pulled together to help focus the boycott efforts.  One is here. But near the top is a more compete list that also offers a  boilerplate script  you can use to contact the individual companies you will be boycotting, to let them know your opinion and that you will not support their company unless they rethink their position. And there even is an app to help you identify the companies and their products.

So whether you favor a total boycott or a targeted boycott, you can participate and you can tailor your level of participation.  We have the tools, the will and the strength to take a stand.

Note: the Business Software Alliance that represents a  large number of  software and hardware companies (Dell, Apple, Intuit, Adobe) withdrew its support in November, so keep in mind that the Google list is in process of being updated.

edited to add: name of the targeted campaign, along with a link to the Android app.
